Given that we always customize the gift baskets for our customers - and are happy to do it, these types of products present challenges for us ensure the quality of the entire gift basket.

Here's what we mean: All of our gourmet and gift products are carefully selected to ensure the highest quality for shipping. We use gourmet products that are non-perishable and have long expiration dates. And our non gourmet gift products are selected to ensure they will ship well so they arrive in excellent condition - typically this means relative no glass or ceramic items, balloons that will pop, or flowers that will crush when placed with the other items in the basket. 

Although fruit is a nice option for gift baskets, it requires a different kind of packaging to ensure it arrives fresh and in good order - no bruises or dents. Mixing the fruit with the gourmet products that come in their own individual packaging would make this almost impossible to preserve the quality and freshness of the fruit.

We can assure you that many of the gourmet gift items in our gift baskets still make a wonderful impression for many of the occasions for which one would typically send fruit or flowers. In fact our gourmet Sympathy and Get Well gift baskets are some of our best selling products!
