Robert Mondavi Private Selection Merlot Red Wine
The Merlot is the star of the vintage. The fruit was very late to ripen, but that is the case in the best European vintages also. Big, rich color. Full blackberry, currant, and plum nose. The flavors are in the dark fruit range. Full tannin and rich, supple mouth are very lush. Big and bold with lots of smoky, toasty oak. Long and lingering finish. In crafting this wine, we chose exceptional Central Coast grapes, primarily from Monterey County, a region that provides the temperate climate, cool breezes, and moist alluvial soils that Merlot loves. We blended the Merlot with 5% Petite Sirah for added color and richness and enhanced the wine’s pure fruit flavors with just a hint of oak for roundness and complexity. Enjoy this wine with barbecued chicken, spaghetti bolognese, wild mushroom risotto, or a perfectly grilled burger.
Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine
The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from cool-climate Central Coast grapes and has been blended with Syrah and small amounts of Petite Sirah, White Riesling, Cabernet Franc, Teroldego, and Ruby Cabernet. The wine has the sweet floral red fruit character that distinguishes California’s finest Cabernet Sauvignons, and its smoky oak and burgundy barrel roundness invigorates the palate while providing a lasting finish. Enjoy with a wide array of dishes, from standing rib roasts, grilled steak, and roast duck to spare ribs, lasagna, and flavorful hard cheeses.
Robert Mondavi Private Selection Chardonnay White Wine
The Central Coast Chardonnay grapes enjoyed an extended period maturing on the vine, which produced fruit with impressively concentrated flavors. The natural richness of our Chardonnay was enhanced by partial barrel and malolactic fermentation coupled with extended aging on the yeast lees, resulting in a luscious, complex wine. The nose reveals lemoncream, orange zest, and peach aromas with smoky oak nuances and enticing vanilla/brown sugar scents. The creamy, mouthfilling palate createsa lush impression and is balanced by a long, crisp finish. Enjoy this delicious wine with rich seafood, poultry and pork dishes, white-sauce pastas – like fettuccine Alfredo, or flavorful, soft-ripening cheeses.
